DESIGN CHALLENGE

Transformed Google Play Movies from a rental and purchase experience to a hub for users streaming services.  From here users can see all their content in one place and start streaming of content from other apps.

This project became the foundation for the new Google TV app and TV experience.  After becoming a huge success and driving +40% more users watching content on the app.

EXPLORE & WATCH CONTENT

Discovery

Users are able to continue watching content from all their apps in one place. Filter their discovery experience mixing various tags and save content to their queu.  Once users find the content they want to watch we select the best watching option for them. Users can also check different ways to watch content and select preffered method.  

THE EVOLUTION of THE CONCEPT

Google TV 

This experience served as the foundation for the Google TV experience. The team decided to merge the Google Play Movies experience with Android TV.  

Now users can stream content from all their services from their TV devices and continue that experience on their phones in the new Google TV app.
